Ceramic
Braces
Ceramic braces are a translucent tooth colored (clear) material. They are most
popular with the adult patients. They are difficult to see on the teeth unless
you are very close to the patient. The only drawbacks to the bracket are that
they are more fragile and the elastic ties can discolor between orthodontic visits.
Dr. Littner performs orthodontics for both adults and children. He uses both
regular metal braces and clear ceramic braces. |

Metal
Braces
Metal braces are the most common. They are made of high grade stainless steel.
Today's braces are much smaller and more comfortable. Therefore they are much
more attractive. Most of the patients like to dress up the braces with different
color elastics that can be changed at each appointment. Multiple colors are available. |

Trutain Retainers
After orthodontic treatment retainers are used to hold the teeth in place. Without
retainers teeth will move.
Braces are not just for kids! In our practice, we treat all age groups, from
toddlers to senior citizens. Teeth can be straightened at any age and a new smile
will last a lifetime. It is never too late to seek the benefits of orthodontic
care, as more and more adults are getting "wired for the future!" |
We offer "One Stop Shopping" at
Cornerstone Dental. While your child, or you as an adult, are undergoing orthodontic
treatment, your gums can be monitored by our trained professionals to make
sure proper brushing techniques are being adhered to. Also constant monitoring
for decay is taking place while undergoing treatment. This is the advantage
of one stop shopping-- braces, gums, and cavities in one location. Less traveling
back and forth to the regular dentist and orthodontic specialist. Come in for
a free consultation and to talk to Dr. Littner about orthodontics for adult
or children's braces. Although a nice smile is important, improving the health of your gums
and teeth is equally important. Crooked teeth and a bad bite can contribute
to tooth decay, gum and bone loss, abnormal wear of the tooth surfaces,
headaches, and sometimes jaw joint (TMJ) pain. Good news! New techniques and materials used have greatly reduced
the discomfort level, decreased the frequency of visits, shortened
the treatment time, and may allow you to choose from several options.
Dr. Littner offers the traditional metal braces (with the colored rubber
ties), translucent (clear) braces, and Ceramic braces. With a complimentary initial examination, Dr. Littner will be able
to determine if you can benefit from orthodontic treatment. We will
inform you what will be necessary, how long it will take, and the cost
of treatment. We will also be able to explain any insurance benefits
you may have. Our former adult patients all agree that orthodontic treatment was
the best investment in themselves that they ever made. We look forward to hearing from you soon! |
